Be our guest this year for an affordable family vacation in beautiful Hot Springs, SD, ranked one of South Dakota's most exciting places by Movoto.com!  A town that is nestled in the southern Black Hills, surrounded with charm, scenic beauty and friendly people. Hot Springs is home to soothing natural warm water springs, great year-round weather, fantastic outdoor activities, beautiful sandstone architecture, and always... the most inviting and friendly people!

In Hot Springs, you can feel the rumble of the ground as hundreds of horses race across the prairie at the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary. Take a walk on the wild side at the internationally renowned Mammoth Site and witness thousands-of-year-old mammoth bones in an active paleontology research site that offers real excavation of fossils right before your eyes.

Make a patriotic pilgrimage to the oldest national veteran's hospital in the country, Battle Mountain Sanitarium, designated in 2011 as a National Historic Landmark, soak in an adventure at Evans Plunge, the Black Hills' oldest attraction and world’s largest indoor fresh mineral water swimming pool, marvel at the amazing boxwork formations in Wind Cave or snap photos of the wildlife of the true American West in Wind Cave National Park.

This town is rich in history, spoiled with beauty and surrounded by charm. In 2009, Hot Springs was recognized as a Distinctive Destination by the National Trust for Historic Preservation for the historic downtown district which is filled with pink sandstone buildings dating back well over a century. In 2014, the South Dakota State Legislature officially designated Hot Springs as "The Veterans Town" for our community's dedication to serving those who served at the South Dakota State Veterans Home and Hot Springs VA campus for more than 100 years.

Hot Springs has also been host to the Miss South Dakota Pageant every year since its inception - the longest any pageant in America has been held in a single community. Every summer in Hot Springs is filled with activities, from our "Veterans Town" 4th of July celebration to the Main Street Arts & Crafts Festival as well as countless concerts, theatrical productions, historical conferences and celebrations, and marketplaces year round! Hot Springs is THE place to be in the Southern Black Hills!

We want to share our treasures and call you our friend. So come soak in a Hot Springs adventure today!
