Black Hills Community Loan Fund
Description
Black Hills Community Loan Fund is rooted in community, integrity, education, and equity. We are industry leaders with the vision of delivering unique lending opportunities with hopes of building strong relationships, financial equity, sustained growth, and closing the wealth gap for underserved community members of the He Sapa Region.
SERVING THE HE SAPA REGION FOR THREE DECADES
Our Story: Black Hills Community Loan Fund was established as the Teton Coalition nearly 30 years ago. The organization originally focused on delivering financial literacy and homebuyer education services to the Native American community of Rapid City, South Dakota. Since then, we have grown and evolved into a Native Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), certified by the U.S. Department of Treasury. Native CDFIs are nonprofit loan funds that help Native communities thrive and grow by increasing access to credit, capital, and financial services.
Our Mission: We provide families with the tools and opportunities to strengthen and empower their financial well-being in the He Sapa Region.
Who We Serve: We are an urban Native CDFI, but we serve everyone located in our five-county service area of Butte, Custer, Fall River, Pennington, and Meade Counties in South Dakota. Individuals with up to 110% of the area’s median household income generally meet the eligibility requirements for our products and services.
